The jet's loud, but a moment of silence for the Raptor please

A moment of silence please.

No thoughts of running. Or biking. Or swimming.

Just a moment of silence for the F-22 Raptor, which will no longer be made after the Senate rejected additional funding for the fighter jet.

Sigh. The Raptor. An amazing aircraft. One I've had the chance to see with my own two eyes the last two summers at EAA's AirVenture (which starts Monday, but the Raptors won't be coming this year).

Just take a look at just a tiny bit of what that fighter jet is capable of doing.

But aren't they extremely expensive?!

The cost of just one of those can fund so many other things though...

Noted that you are reading "Life of Pi"; that book is great. I think you'll like the twist at the end. "In Cold Blood" is also amazing. I'd recommend the movie "Capote" to go along with it.

Yes, they are expensive. And I understand the decision not to fund. I just wanted an excuse to write about the Raptor - and amazing aircraft that I'm a little bit in love with, can you tell? - especially since it won't be flying at AirVenture this week.
