November reading recap

Eleven months down and that goal of 40 books by the end of the year? I best start choosing short books if I'm going to reach it.

I did read in November. Finished off four books for a total of 1,000 pages (that's freakishly even). That brings the yearly total to 33 books and 10,931 pages. Which means I've got to finish seven books in the month of December. Hmmm. Holidays. Not many days of vacation. Holiday preparations. Lots of work. Might be tough, but I'll try. And for the record, at the end of November in 2008? The numbers were 41 books and 14,437 pages. Yeah, I'm a bit behind.

But remember, I read in November. Take a look:

The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom
Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer
It's Not About the Bike: My Journey Back to Life by Lance Armstrong
Ford Country by John Grisham

So yeah, half of the finished titles were actually re-reads, ones I've read before. But they were good ones. I love Armstrong's story. Very inspiring. And it fit well with it being Thanksgiving time I thought.

I too loved Lance's story. What did you think of Ford Country? I was thinking of picking that book up myself.

I picked up some short christmas stories from the library and they look like quick reads. I have read the lance armstrong book and loved it! I was thinking about getting some audio books so i could listen to them while i am doing other things! Its really hard to read a book and clean at the same time!

oooh a reading goal!!! did you ever do this growing up? our schools and pizza hut teamed together to sponsor a summer reading program every year in elementary school. we had to set our own book # goal and then if we reached it we got a free personal pan pizza. lol. i want to do this! i have so many books on my to-read list.

so you are a triathlon-er huh!!! impressive! did you start as a biker ? or did you start by running?

i love mitch albom. so neat seeing him on ESPN and stuff, too! he's "real" and easy to relate to, esp his writing.

I love to read but have been woefully slacking as of late. Born to Run was my last book. I have Brain Training for Runners now but I'm barely into it. Have a great weekend!

Read the Griffin and Sabine books by Nick Bantock. That's 6 right there and they are all very short.

Into the Wild is by far my favorite book! The kid was a little crazy, but very inspiring. Did you see the movie? It's pretty close to the book and a good one.

I'm thinking about the Lance book ... thanks for sharing your opinion.

Into the Wild is a great book. I like the fact you had a goal to read 40 books. I have a goal to read 5 running books but I should increase it and include all books. Thanks for the inspiration.
